I'm goofy  Pakkos in the grass  Gooooofy  Lua  Simba  Pakkos  Very obedient  On a walk  On a walk

It is Euro 08 time, and I am very excited. This is a big event, and it’s in my own country, the opening game was only about twenty minutes away from where I live. I keep being worried that I will not appreciate it enough, or that I will not occupy myself with it enough, or that I will not take advantage of everything it has to offer. And then it will be over, and the feelings that will remain all start with “I should have…”

So I am now officially announcing that I will go to at least one public viewing, I will go to at least one fan zone, and I will go into the city on the day of a game at least once. And take pictures. And post them here.

The one thing I really don’t like about this whole event is the naysayers. I mean, I get it, some people are not interested in football, and some are seriously against it for political reasons, or personal reasons, or social reasons. But a lot of them are against it because it will be inconvenient for them. Because they will have to take a different bus. Or can’t drink their beer at their pub without hordes of Czech fans hollering near their sensitive ears. Or - forbid - their favourite TV show will be pushed back because of games being broadcast on the same channel. Those are usually people who always find something to complain about, and I just don’t get it. This will most likely never happen again in your lifetime, not in your own country, and instead of complaining and bitching about it, how about trying to find out why some people really love these few weeks, and maybe - this is pushing it a little, but maybe even try to have some fun of your own?

If you can remember what fun is.

I have nothing to update about. At least nothing suitable for the general public. Poor me.

Lookit, it’s got a new layout!

Actually, to be quite honest, it’s not a new layout. This was the first WP theme I ever made from scratch, and I used it on another site of mine, but I was so fond of it, I tweaked it a little for this one. Changed the colour scheme and everything.

I can’t guarantee there aren’t any bugs or anything, but checking will have to wait, I’m one of those poor souls who work Saturdays and I should get some sleep now.

The header image will, of course, not stay this plain.

One of these days I will install that WP plugin that lets you work on themes live without having to actually use them. Yep. One of these days. Not today.

I will update this thing real soon, I’ve just been really busy with moving and work stuff, and and and… stuff.

Back to black, Valerie, help yourself, you know I’m no good. Me and Mr. Jones, just friends, love is a losing game. In my bed, tears dry on their own.

See what I did there? Wrote something completely made of Amy Winehouse lyrics. My gift to society today.

Go google something, nothing to see here.

A TV station in Venezuela is taking The Simpsons out of their morning program, because it is unsuitable for children.

I’ve always said that The Simpsons is not a show for young kids. There are so many references to sexuality and politics, not to mention the quite obvious violence. Itchy & Scratchy anyone? Homer choking Bart? Murders, alcoholism, nicotine addiction, all things children shouldn’t be exposed to at a young age.

So bravo, Venezuelan TV! Bravo for saving your children by taking The Simpsons off the air and replacing it with…

…Baywatch.
